Valves

Whenever a unit is dropped in, as a matter of course all of the valves are tested as part of the initial service procedure. These are tested both on my AVO Mark III valve analyser and tested for
microphony and oscillation in your unit.
Output valves and phase inverter valves should always be correctly matched to ensure the perfect sound for your amplifier and future reliability.

I’ve got an old saying: ‘Just because it’s new, don’t mean it’s any good’.
What do I mean, please read on…

My beautiful valve tester

New valves are given the same treatment, regardless. There’s nothing worse than fitting a new set of output valves and one of them is faulty which can cause damage to the amp’s electronics. Even though the valves may be new, they can still get damaged in transit or even be faulty ‘straight out of the box’ and so in my opinion, spending a little extra time testing them before use can save possible disappointment later on.
All valves are covered by a 90-day warranty.
